On May 15th a massive crowd gathered in Placa Cataluna to defy the State Government mandate that gatherings could not occur within 2 days of a State election. Well they did gather, and stayed and stayed and were beaten by police and returned and stayed. They marched to the state parliament building and forced the representatives to be helicoptered in and out and proved that “their dreams could not fit into a ballot box”. The way they conducted themselves was exemplary, and formatted the process through which “Occupy” movements have spread all over the world. My heart lifted when I saw this happening because it is unanswerable. There is no system that represents Los Indignados, it is evolving. In a way it does not matter if it succeeds or not because it has surfaced and cannot be denied.

I found people who were strangers talking, meeting, respecting, debating, and making decisions with others they had never met before. The missing ingredient.
