Humour

O.K. the world can be a pretty depressing place at times, particularly if you care about the environment. Here are a few posts to bring on a smile .

“The Chasers” have been one of Australia’s best exports for years now, (with a bit of time off for “humour sick”) but they’re back at their best with Monckton who REALLY IS Ali G.

Bill Nighy plays the part of a “bwanker” (alias the Sherrif of Nottingham), very well, and makes a very good case why England and America should stop being obstructionist and agree to a “Robin Hood Tax”.

The “Occupy” movement has produced a lot of “grief” amongst protestors but is beginning to spark a bit of humour too !

John Cooper Clark live in Dublin ;

John Cooper Clarke was the first of the performance poets in England and began recording in the late ’70’s. He has an acerbic wit that has become known throughout Europe, always topical, foul-mouthed and extremely funny one of his poems “Chickentown” was used as the closing music on the U.S. acclaimed serial “The Sopranos”. He is now enjoying a resurgence in popularity after partner Nico died in Ibiza, and years of drug addiction during the 80’s. He now includes poetry in his mainly “stand-up” comedy routine. http://www.johncooperclarke.com/

Don’t play the clip if your offended by bad language.

More John Cooper Clark from a performance in Burnley, north England. Most of the audience would understand his accent, hope you do too.

As usual with Cooper Clark, don’t play the clip if bad language offends.

I missed this last year when it first aired but after 12 months it is even more relevant than it was then. Update ; Greece’s economic situation has worsened and a 2nd bail out of 140 billion Euros has been approved. The European Financial Stability Fund has been increased to 440 billion Euros with the idea that it could be further increased to 2 trillion Euros, just to keep the markets happy !

A classic piece of Irish comedy, little Becky and the demolition company.
