Barcelona has won many architectural awards, a few years ago it was awarded one for the whole City ! The newer building is away from the old City and is to be centered around Nouvels Torre Agbar, the gherkin in the photographs. It has the advantage of being really well lit and is used at New Year and fiesta time for some really spectacular light shows.

I went on an interesting walk along the beach front to find a solar panel installation that had been financed by the Barcelona Council, it appears towards the end of the pictures and is very interesting. They have used a large flat display to provide space underneath for community facilities including an adventure playground for kids, very imaginative.
