Barcelona’s “flowering” came at the same time as the “Gaudi period” between 1850 and 1920. It gave “Modernism” to the world and is a wonderful treat for the eyes to walk amongst the “inner” barrios (suburbs) which are set in a grid pattern around the Old City.
